A little bit about us...

Windmill Under 5s Preschool (or 'Windmills' for short) is nestled in the Lacey Green and Loosely Row Sports Club grounds, overlooking the beautiful playing fields and surrounding farms.  We enjoy all the benefits of a rural location and make the most of our outdoors environment.

 

We believe that children learn best through play and exploration in a stimulating, fun and safe environment. We offer children a varied range activities, which differ each day, encouraging them to explore and investigate.

 

We’ve been operating in Lacey Green for over 40 years and have a close relationship with (the adjacent) St John’s Church of England Primary School.  We provide sessional care for children aged 2 to 5 years old, from 9am until 12noon, with the option to attend ‘lunch clubs’ until 1:30pm, and 'afternoon sessions' until 3pm, Monday to Thursday.

 

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, and are particularly passionate about helping our children to develop socially and emotionally, to build resilience and confidence, in preparation for the next step in their lives.

 

We believe that no child, individual or family should be excluded from preschool activities on the grounds of gender, class, family status, means, disability or special need, ethnic origin, culture, religion or belief.  We believe activities should be open to all children and families, and to all adults committed to their education and care.  We aim to ensure that all who wish to work in, or volunteer to help with, our preschool have an equal chance to do so.
