About Us

Management committee
The pre-school is operated by a management committee of parents who are responsible for policies, finance and staffing. This group also organises fund raising events to provide us the funding to develop the setting and support the aims of the pre-school.

We are Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) accredited which allows us to apply for funding to provide free places for eligible 3 and 4 year olds and we are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. Both our policy statements and Ofsted reports are available for view upon request.

Windmill Under 5s offers a wide range of activities that are tailored to the foundation stage and stepping stones guidelines approved by Ofsted.

Our extensive range of indoor equipment is complemented by our fully enclosed and secure outdoor play area.

We actively promote positive behaviour and encourage each child to develop confidence, self esteem and to become an independent learner.

Ethos
We believe that children learn best through play, through exploration and investigation in a stimulating and safe environment.

Our Aim
To offer your children a full range of stimulating and fun activities which: encourages them to develop socially and emotionally; develops self-esteem and confidence; and allows them to become independent learners.

The Environment
We operate within a large and airy room that is shared with the local Cricket Club. Therefore, we have to put all equipment away on a regular basis. We endeavour to display work and create a stimulating environment within these confines. We are fortunate enough to have secure garden and we make use of the field and park that are close to the building.
